My guy used to drive 3-1/2 almost four hours to see me on the weekends before I joined him the next year at university. He did it nearly every weekend, I'd surprise him once in a while and drive to him. Missed him so bad the drive was soo worth it!

It depends on how desperate the guy is for a girlfriend. Any guy that is confident enough in themselves to know they're able to get another girl if they wanted, will most likely not travel that long to see a girl.

I can say that I would not drive to meet up with a girl for sex. Is this a LDR? If I was in LDR, yes I would drive 2 hours and pay for a room. I would do it because I'm in love with her or I care about her a lot. I can't say that it would be for love right away that would depend on how the relationship is going.
