No, but as long as you don't make it seem like a big deal and be mature. Like don't make an effort to tell her. But say if she's sleeping over and you put the night lamp on and she asks why, its fine if you casually say "I'm afraid of the dark" and then go back to doing what ever you were doing. If you act like a 12 year old girl and say "Ok don't laugh but I am so super scared of the dark. But don't tell anyone" then yes, its a turn off.
No. I kind of like taking the protective role in the relationship. It makes me feel secure in a way. I don't like the dark as much, but I'm not afraid. I do enjoy it though when I'm with someone I like and I will be more than happy to comfort them and "fight the dark" or whatever scares them about it. I think it's sweet also if a guy were to show his vulnerability to me.
Honestly, it depends how he handles it. Being *really* on edge or super defensive whenever it's dark, yeah a little, I mean I don't want to end up getting socked (hit) or anything! But if it's just a fear &/or he let's me know, I think it's kind of endearing because maybe I can comfort him. Like a guy with a girl at a horror film.
Yes I want him to protect me!
I personally said no. Mainly because we're all scared of something. Mine is spiders. I'm brave enough to kill one but would probably freak out if one got on me. It's completely irrational too. I'm also not a huge fan of falling and have a slight fear of drowning (Ocean or Lake).
Though personally I love the dark and night time. It's just peaceful. I also wouldn't mind dating a girl who was scared of the dark.
Why in the world are you or anyone else scared of the dark? I couldn't think a women would find that any other way.

Everyone is afraid of something. I don't understand why are guys forced to get over their fears and we're excused.
My boyfriend is afraid of swimming on waters deeper than 5 ft because he almost drowned as a kid. Trying to get him over his fear would be just as annoying as someone forcing me to go near every single medium-large dogs (just like he's scared of deep waters, I'm scared of big dogs).
NO, @ LEAST NOT TO OR FOR ME. IF HE'S AFRAID OF THE DARK HOW CAN HE PROTECT OR MAKE ME FEEL SAFE? IF HE CAN'T BE MANLY LIKE A MAN IS SUPPOSE 2 BE THEN Y DO YOU NEED HIM? IF I'M THE WOMAN & HAVE TO SAVE & PROTECT A MAN THATS AFRAID OF THE DARK THAT'S NOT HAPPENING Y DO I NEED A SCARY CAT? IF I HAVE TO DO IT MYSELF I MIGHT AS WELL BE BY MYSELF! I NEED TO FEEL SAFE & SECURE WITH A GUY & IF HE'S AFRAID OF THE DARK THEN he's NOT THE ONE!
I'm laughing as I write this because I thought you women would be a little higher in your pct. of finding it unattractive. My ex was terrified and a couple times we had a blackout and she grabbed me and started screaming. After I calmed her down I simply asked her if she remembered what the room looked like 5 minutes ago? She said yes and I told her that is the way it still is only we can't see it. That little logic helped.
I'm a grown man and have been semi-afraid of the dark, it's just a little phobia though (my mind sometimes creates scary thoughts about the dark and I can't stopping thinking about them). But that's only inside my home for some weird reason, I'm perfectly confident outside my house or anywhere else
gosh I sure hope not because I am one of those guys that is afraid of the dark and I have been that way since childhood. although, these days I'm only afraid of the dark if I'm alone like if I was just standing outside alone for some reason I will get paranoid and scared and go inside

I am a grown man.
And I am scared of the dark. It is funny that my girlfriend is only afraid of the dark when I am not with her. If we are together, she wants it to be totally dark.
Wtf?
:V Most guys I know have a fear of the dark.
It kind of natural human instinct to be scared of the dark.
The people that love the dark are the people I think a on the creepy side but that's just my opinion. :V
A man who is afraid of the dark cannot be the night, and if he cannot be the night, then he cannot be Batman.
And if he's not Batman, then shadow monsters like in the OP can get you.
Batman has spoken. The end.
kind of. i'm scared shitless by the dark. i need someone to not be scared of that. though honestly, if he was scared, i would, by default, not be scared. that just happens with me. so... i guess it would be ok. overall.
There is nothing to be afraid of about the dark. Except for the monsters, obvs.
It would depend on why he's scared.. If he had a traumatic experience in the dark.. I mean it would take a while to get over that.. If I'm seeing ish like in the picture.. I'mma be terrified to even look at the dark.. LOL..
If I was in the dark and saw a gangley, humanoid spectre with glowing eyes looking at me, like in your picture, I would feel for the guy because that would make me scared of the dark, too.
What the fuck? Lmao. I'd think he had some type of mental disorder.
Lol u must be from NYC or LA
Honestly yes, yes it is.
But I do understand there are phobias that can't be controlled or overcome that easily. As long as they try - good for them.
naw if i can be scared of the dark as a women, you can be afraid of the dark as a man... cause i mean... honestly though.. that shits scary.. it's like there's a ghost constantly watching you or a demon ready to pop out
No but it's going to be annoying because he's going to make me scared too. I mean I'm not scared in the dark but if someone is who I spend a lot of time with is scared of something I sometimes just take their fears over I don't know why
If he's so scared he needs others to face it for him, then probably.
However, all humans have natural fears like heights, loud noises, fire, and the dark. The important thing is overcoming these fears.
I sure hope not, because I'm scared of pretty much everything!
... Maybe that's why I don't have a girlfriend :o
I love the dark, don't know why, it's just relaxing because everyone is sleeping and it's just me and the world
Depend is this a fear or a phobia? If it's a phobia I would understand but if it's just a fear. I would him to fight it cause it's honestly a bit ridiculous.
Forget it... I hear and see all kinds of random things...
Once the lights go out, other senses pick up...
No man. Chicks love that. Nothing like seeing their man trembling in the dark to get their panties wet.
