He called me poor baby, what does this mean?

So there was this after party, I haven't known him that long - and I was so tired. And he and his friend was standing in the kitchen while I was in the toilet. I forgot my phone in the kitchen, so I came back. And then, he just opens his arms, just saying you look so tired, poor baby. And just cuddles with my neck.

What does that behaviour mean?
