also I've met 20yos who are 50x more mature, smarter, and level-headed than people in their 40s and 50s. you're naive to think age = maturity. Maturity stems from your value and perspective of the world and how you deal with problems and situations. A fair amount of people get jaded and depressed as they age so you could actually say age can make you more immature and cynical sometimes.

When you met enough people you will realize this. The only real downside to an age gap that big is having kids/starting and starting family. There are some biological hitches in that sense. It has literally nothing to do with "maturity" or "having things in common" that is just what people who dont understand relationships and people tell themselves to cope with aging.

I am believe opposites attract and the more things you have NOT in common the more likely your relationship is to succeed. I think its the differences that bring people together not the similarities. Either way "common ground" is all superficial surface level shit and relationships go much deeper than that. The truth is people want to be with other people who make them happy and happiness is a complex emotion that we can't really quantify. For instance, when i look at my girlfriend she makes me happy. i feel that same same emotion looking at her that i got on my Christmas morning when i was 12.
