Why a guy asks you to play video games with him but asks no one else?

He probably really has a thing for you. The reason why video games are involved is it is a really great way to bond with one another whether you play for or against each other. Especially for the quiet types because it gives him something to talk about to you if all other conversation topics fail to come to mind.

I never had an xbox or a playstation growing up so the latest console i have is a wiiu (saving up for a switch tho) so I don't know about the video chat but if he says so then I believe him because the wiiu has that feature too. There are an abundance of games you can play multiplayer for xbox/ps4 though which is great.

That could depend on some factors: how much you value him (that is if you are only buying the system just for playing with him), if you would really like the games that go with the system, if you would be willing to play the system by yourself in case he is not available, if anyone else you know has the system and can play with them or if you are willing to shell out a lot of money for the system (I think the xbox one is cheaper if you are trying to be thrifty). Its all up to you to decide if its worth it.

Well I used to always play xbox games with one of my guy friends in my teen years and I enjoyed it. So yea!!
