Playing with her hair?

How much truth is there in the idea that if a girl plays with her hair when she talks to a guy that she likes him?

Not the last time, but the time before, I saw a friend who I like and when we were talking at 1 point I noticed she wouldn't stop playing with her hair. She knows I like her as more than a friend but when we discussed it once before she said it wasn't mutual.

I know she could have just been fidgeting but I'm just curious as to how true the theory behind it is

The theory is 100 % true. Self grooming is a powerful indacator of interest.

Thanks, to be honest I';m a very poor judge of being able to tell if someone is interested. I can't say I've noticed the touching of her hair before the day when she did it a lot, but she does allow me to hug her when we're saying bye. The talking thing is a bit of a problem though, untill recently she would text me most days asking how I was etc, but in the last week or so its not been as mch. doesn't help that we live a while apart so seeing each other is a challenge

She could be nuerotic...or she likes you take your pick, look for other signs, maybe try flirting, etc

I know it can be an indicator of interest, but know that it can also mean she's just nervous, and not necessarily in a good way. I know when I'm feeling stressed out or uncomfortable I touch my hair a lot because it's comforting. Keep that in mind and don't over-read signals that aren't there.

Sometimes I just play with my hair. To some girls it means absolutely nothing. However, if there's a guy who I find attractive near me, when he's not looking I'm more likely to adjust my hair (to make sure it looks nice) but I won't actually play with it. I usually play with my hair when I'm bored.

It's not true for me. I don't play with my hair, I get too nervous to flap my arms all over the place (which includes the hair thing). I usually smile a lot and blush.

If she knows you like her she has probably started liking you. This happens often. When a person likes another, they tend to feel attracted to that person and have feeling fir them. Playing with her hair is a proven sign of flirting and a nervous gesture. She's probably flirting with you. ;) the theory is true. I've been caught doing this before with a guy I liked.
