Why do guys give girls long, tight hugs?

He's a friend of mine and he gave me this long hug about 10-15 seconds. At first it was a relaxed hug with his hands around my waist. Then, during the middle of the hug, he started hugging me tighter and he exhaled while putting his head over my shoulder.

If he's in a relationship then that's a red flag.. Guys like giving long hugs to people they feel really comfortable with. But the fact that he added some extra affection in the hug means he really likes you. If he don't do it in front of his girl, it's wrong.
