OK, so there's this guy that I sometimes run into on campus. Whenever we run into each other, we always stare at each other in the eyes, until I turn my face because I'm a little shy. One time I saw him walking down the same street, and I looked down because I got shy but I looked up and we both looked at each other and he kept looking till I looked away. Other times we see each other at the gym, and I'll see him, and we stare and he smiles. Does he like me? Or is he just attracted to me or what... I don't want to sound conceited but I get told that I am pretty attractive. He's a senior and I'm a sophomore in college. Is he just smiling to be polite or is that his way of flirting or what?

Well that's the first thing I do when I am attracted to someone. But as a guy it's hard to tell what the girl feels if she just smiles back. I mean let's face it, everyone smiles - you don't walk down the street, look at someone and they give you a mean/nasty face for no reason haha. But yeah, my point is, if you're a girl and you see a guy who you've never met before smiling at you I can't think of any other reason than him being attracted to you.

well he's just started smiling at me. before we'd see each other and just kinda stare at each other. but recently he's started smiling at me. but I'm not sure if its because we see each other sometimes and he recognizes me and is trying to be polite or because he's flirting...

If he makes a prolonged look so that he can smile at you, he must be interested in you in-some-way and keeps smiling at you to see whether you respond or not by smiling back.
