Why does he always smile and laugh when....?

okay so this guy, every time I talk to him he always smiles and laughs even when I'm not being funny and I'm like dead serious and when I talk to him he is like wait what did you say but it seems like he is listening to me when I talk because he looks concentrated on me but...what does this mean?

It means he is trying to like you. What is wrong with smiling and laughing when you talk...absolutely nothing. You being "dead serious and not funny" does not mean your "upset and angry". Therefore he is still just going to laugh it off. Of course he is going to listen to you, what is what normal people do when they like someone. If he didn't like you, he would not be talking to you.
