Guys, if you look at a girl while she's talking to you and lick your lips, it is a sign of nerves or attraction?

We study together, recently became friends, and I have noticed that every time I talk to him he licks his lips and his eyes go really big/ wide

He doesn't lick his lips around others though. I also don't think him licking his lips is a conscious behaviour, I don't think he realises he does it around me.

But it makes me wonder if he's just nervous around me or its a sign of attraction

Surrender Yee Booty! Lol na just kidding, I do believe it's a sign of attraction as intently trying to focus in on you and what you have to say you would see other signs though if you were nervous. Perhaps you should try pushing a little bit one way or another to see what the reaction is if you like him maybe place your hand on his are you just interested in being friends perhaps just ask him straight out.
