Alright.. why is this man prettier than me?

I'm currently looking at male model faces for skin blending and came across this dude, my mouth hit the floor. I don't understand, what did I do wrong? Who put a curse on me? This is not fair! Why does he get to be pretty and I don't? This was me before seeing his face:

I know I should be ugly and proud... but I'm having hard time accepting it.

Um, we don't exactly have a comparison but not even that guy looks like that guy. He has a personal fitness team, skin care advice team, possible plastic surgery team, make up team, photography team, photo editing team, photo retouching team & distribution houses behind him. The image you see & the actual person, would look starkly different. Not to mention that then you have your countries version of beauty, a world standard of beauty, an internet standard of beauty & a personal definition of beauty on top of that. Each of these things affect the way people see things.

Strangely enough though, something thing everyone can agree is attractive is confidence. Almost anyone can sell themselves on enough self confidence alone, just think of some of your favourite internet stars; not the most attractive, but still your favourites.

That's why I said 'possible' plastic surgery team (some male models get their chins, cheek bones, noses & ear or eye shapes changed as well as things like botox injections) but not as many as the women I'm sure, like you say. He is definitely gorgeous but my point is the gorgeous you're looking at, that intricate detail with just the right angle & lighting & clothes, it's just not the way that people look or act. So if you're looking at these pictures of him & then looking at yourself and feeling "why can't I be like that? Is there something wrong with me?" The answer is absolutely no. He is a beautiful man that's been tweaked & enhanced & trained to look just so to perfectly promote things, to catch peoples eye & make them want to be like him, even though, when he goes home & takes off the makeup & hair product, he looks very different.

It's one thing to admire someone who is just, beyond gorgeous, and the way they look but that doesn't mean the media version is the same as them IRL. It's like how things in cartoons still happen in real life but never the same way that they do in cartoons. There's real & believable & then there's make believe, the way we imagine things could be. There's very much lots of different kinds of people who I sure would find attractive but you're not going to be out there enjoying *your* natural beauty or those who admire you if your brain is bogged down, spinning it's wheels over thoughts about how someone else "is better". Maybe have a look into some positive self-talk videos and start with some small things you like about your body, even if you don't really believe yourself at first. Mindsets like this have a way of festering & just making things seem worse.

Can't change the way we look, some people are just luckier than others. I wouldn't say its always genetics. I know some ugly ass parents with beautiful offspring. Can't let things hold you back, dwelling on things you have no control over is not worth it.
