My guy friend frequently backhugs me, resting his chin on my shoulder and he also nuzzle his cheek to mine. Why is he doing this?

He keeps doing this. He often backhugs me and if he does it his cheek is pressed to mine, his lips are really close to mine as he nuzzle to me. If we are sitting he is always interlocking arms with me as he rest his head on my shoulder. Sometimes he plays with my hands. We intertwined hands as he initiate it and I got awkward to break it. Help me understand him.
