Why do boys that thing in which they look a girl up and down?

there is a guy who walked pass me and while he did that he turned to me and looked me up and down with his eyes. He is much taller than me and was easily able to look down from up there. It was like a scan and happend really, really fast like 1 sec soon as he saw me. I am a girl and 17 and he's 19y i was wearing a grey pencil skirt and a black bandeau top. I am asking myself right know if I looked good or not and why he did that. Or do guys that always?

Some guys have more self control than others. Unfortunately, the male gaze is something that will never go away. I hate to admit it but I do this all the time. Dont focus on what he is thinking, because unless he's super gross, you won't be able to tell.

Guys will cast a glance at most anyone, but to do the head-to-foot laser eye scan thing----that's reserved for someone they would A-list. It's not a thing to fear. Don't internalize it and feel ugly. Accept it and allow it to grow your confidence. It is a powerful gift. Have a plan for dealing with guys who get over attentive. And use the strength you discover to accomplish great good.

I was wearing a grey pencil skirt and a black bandeau top. Both were quiete tight. I caught him later observing me from far away. What makes me really unsure. I used to like my outfit I was wearing than. But know the lobger i am looking at it, the more it turns ugly. Also it makes me just really unsure if I looked good because he was looking and I didn't felt pretty at all
