My ex re-adds me on Snapchat?

So, one month ago my ex and I had an argument. We kinda insulted each other also and I said things I really regret. But he said stuff that hurt me, too. Since then, he told me that he wasn’t interested in me anymore and that he hates me and will never forgive me. He also said that he has done so many things for me in the past but that he didn’t want to have any kind of contact with me anymore. And I got his point. So he blocked me on all social media, literally. And he made me swear I will never recontact him again.

4 days ago I wanted to check whether I was still blocked on Snapchat and surprisingly I wasn’t. But he didn’t add me or anything, maybe he was hesitating. 2 days later, at 1 am I got a notification: he added me and sent me a “hi, how are you?” message. I was sleeping so I replied to him in the morning. Then I noticed he deleted the friendship request and the message also. The fuck? I don’t get why.
Then 6 hours later, he replies to me telling me that it’s been a while since we haven’t talked (yes, one month). He then asked me if I still hated on him and I told him No. He said that he added me just to say he is sorry but that he doesn’t want to see me anymore because he has no interest in doing that.

Okey, maybe he is telling the truth but then when I told him that I was going on a date with someone else he replied in a very mean way saying that this kind of things just lead to fornication and condamnation. I don’t know if he got jealous or if he still has feelings for me (I still do have feelings for him). But I don’t get why he recontacted me since all he says is that he is no more into me. And moreover he didn’t really tried to ask for forgiveness, he was just pretty cold and was replying in an arrogant way.
Can you maybe guess why he is acting this way?
