When a guy gives you a nickname what does that mean?

I gave a guy a nickname, and he gave me one. but he knows I spell it a certain way ( there's different variations to speeling my nickname) but he constantly spells my nickname the wrong way on purpose.

I give everyone a name, so in my case it means nothing but that I find it more amusing to call you something silly than what your name actually is.
