My friends and I were having a discussion on how guys and girls have different meanings for different phrases so guys and girls please explain what each of these phrases mean to you or what you mean when you use them.

I like you -

I like you so much (I like you a lot) -

I want you -

You look good -

You're a cutie -

These are all pretty unsecretive phrases, even for women haha. When I say I like you or I like you a lot it means just that. I don't think I've ever said I want you outloud, physically I would hint at it through physical affection or light touching and flirting. You look good means I think you look f***ing sexy, but only if you didn't ask for my opinion on your looks. You look good only means you look good if I say this without any pre-emptive conversation about how you look, haha. If we are talking about a new shirt he just bought and I say you look good, I probably just mean yeah its fine and I don't really care. If you ask me Do I look good? and I think you're being insecure I might say Yeah you look good but I might be totally lying. So if you want a compliment don't ask for one lol. You're a cutie means I definitely think you're the cutest thing on the planet, and I tell my boyfriend this all the time haha.

You look good - Just a compliment. I'd say this to guys or girls.

You're a cutie - It can either be "you're adorable" or "I'm physically attracted to you". Depends on who I'm talking about.

I like you = depends on the sentence e.g. your a nice person I like you (friendly)..or, well I was hoping we link up cos I kinda like you (interested)

"I like you so much or alot" = a lot is more than "like" so I would say interested...but a gay guy can alway give his female friend the right gift and the comment is completely harmless :)

"I want you" is for two people intending make babies :P yes, chemistry and physics involved with no time wasted.

"You look good" - depends how you say it, its all about your behavior and the situation again, if its a party then you could get away with it, if its out of the blue it could mean something..its normally a complement.

Your a cutie = if she is cute then I'm just going to be honest..& if I am interested then I will clarify my intentions.
