It definitely could be that he likes you. Does he spend more attention to you compared to others? More talking for example

he has never initiated conversations with me first but would always tend to be near where i sit.. like once i just entered the room & i sat somewhere, a few minutes later, he moved towards where i sat, and sat 1 seat away from me

Sounds like he likes you. Start some conversations with him, so he becomes more comfortable around you, and go from there. Try to find common interest. For example enjoying same genre in reading, sports or animals

yup i did actually. Cause he tends to be around my area & thus i always talked to him first, since he would never talk to me first... not sure whether he likes it or not cause he would never continue the conversations and will give short replies only

Might be he still has to open up more, or he isn't interested, though previous mentioned behavior suggests interest. See if you can get him to talk about something he is passionate about, so he forgets who he is talking with and talks easier

thats why its confusing... he always tends to be near my area when we happened to be at the same location but will never approach me. he also do sometimes avoided eye contact, dropped things, purposely walked in front of me... confusing though

I would try to get to know him better so he is more comfy, but if he keeps behaving like this, not taking the opportunity to talk to you and such, might be he isn't ready, as sad as it is

Finding out if attraction is mutual takes mutual effort, maybe he just needs a push to realise: "hey she is interested in me as well". Try to get just the 2 of you together and start talking, or hang out for an activity (ice rink is a favorite of mine, but not practical right now). If he isn't ready you could wait or look around at other people. Though it sounds like he just needs a push on right track

what do you mean by needs a push? he wants me to be interested in him? but is he even interested in me in the first place?

He sounds interested from what I read. He isn't sure about it himself or about how you feel. If you both have the same exercises from school, you could ask him for help with a specific part, math for example, so he gets used to be around you. Also most guys enjoy helping someone.

From my experience it can help him feel more comfortable if he can help you (the person he likes). Though it works best if he is good at it, and you are actually somewhat bad at it. Most guys would like it yes, if they are able to help someone they like
