Does my guy friend like me more than a friend?

This guy friend of mine has suddenly started texting me more and today he asked if he could FaceTime me? We talked for about half an hour about nothing that important just random stuff and he was smiling and laughing a lot the whole time. But it just felt really tense to me, and weird that he would just call me out of the blue like that which is something he NEVER does? So I assumed it was something important but it wasn’t.

You should never try to look for signs. You should overall ask him all the questions you are asking us. We are not him, and not everybody does the same thing nor have the same kind of intentions. If he's not being direct with you, you need to be direct with him. He could be going through a lot of depression right now oh, so I highly suggest you ask him what's happening in his life. Offer him some support. But don't overdo anything that's going to stress you out.

It's easy: If you like him, don't think all this to be weird. Tag along.

If you don't, let him know subtly that you don't like him so much.

Well if you ask me, you need to act quick in order to subtly tell him that you don't like him.

Saying no is hard indeed. But you need to do that if you care about your friend.

He's your friend. I guess you can be stupid around him.

Worst case scenario, he doesn't have feelings, you make your stance clear, but since you'd have a common ground you'd be able to laugh it out together!

True but our friendship isn’t like a best friend kind of thing, there’s some level of like tenseness to it? And he’s pretty sensitive so I wouldn’t want to like hurt him somehow but doing that like randomly saying sorry but I don’t like you which would make him feel horrible 😂

Yeah I understand your situation.

I'd say that you don't have to rush it up somehow and spontaneously say no to him.

But rather discourage behaviours that you don't like to get along with. You can try turning around the topic whenever you feel like its not going according to you.

Finally I'd just say that you don't have to overthink this one. Being polite and clear is the best you can do.
