I asked my boyfriend if I could paint his nails and he was fine with it because he’s not insecure about his sexuality. Same with facial makeup although that made him a bit more uncomfortable.

People are getting angry about the insecure with their sexuality/masculinity part. I was just quoting my boyfriend’s response. Ironically when I was first proposed to by the first girl I met on OkCupid, I was kinda clueless and hadn't thought a second about that, while I made my "soft cutie" identity and interests very clear. Not interested in femininity here tho, but cuteness, softness, feeding the female-gaze, and maybe later taking in a whole cosplayish/petplayish catboy identity with lots of various makeup.

" is true in some cases, what's universally true is that we are secure and have come up beyond the fragility of traditionnal masculinity that's full of contradictions, fake toughness, homophobia/non-assumed-homoerotism, and toxicity, now we can be secure in our masculinity or in the fact to not be masculine, some men do make up to be feminine and are also valid men, and I'll do it to be cute, unrelated to gender, but certainly as away as possible from masculine! :)

One I have always liked my nails painted. My oldest daughter when she was 5 always wanted to paint my nails. After a while being done so much. I grown to like pretty nail colors. That was back in 1995 or so
The girls made me into a princesses a Queen, wife took it even farther and went drag Queen. That day was super funny and had lots of laughs. Everyone got into the act.
That was about a month ago. I think I'm due for another make over. My 8 year old granddaughter I think has the most fun with it.
there is you.. there is your other.. and there is your relationship. Personally I think you should bend over backwards to prioritize your relationship. There are times when you might put yourself first.. but.. if there is no show stopping reason you should really really take this opportunity to invest in you're relationship. It's a good thing right? It will make your other happy and smile right? Besides facing your fears makes you stronger.. and their happiness laughter and joy makes your relationship stronger. I don't think anyone should ever make rules or hard lines in a relationship.. I think both should give what they can if they can do it safely.

What makes it retarded is not only that you want to do that, but also the way you try to frame it as though guys who do are "secure in their masculinity", and guys who don't are not. So what you're saying is that men who act like women are more secure in their masculinity, and are therefore more masculine than men who do not.
Men who wear make-up = masculine. Men who don't = not masculine. So feminine men = masculine, masculine men = not masculine.
I've never understood why women even want to do this to their man. Then they post it on social media and clown their partner for all to see. I wouldn't do it , and I wouldn't expect my partner to be okay with it. That's what female best friends are for. Maybe if a girl wants to do this, they should stop making their partner play every single role in their life, and should find a female best friend...
