Is he actually interested in me?

I have been talking to this guy for a couple of weeks and today we now have the yellow heart on snap. He gave me a nickname and calls me things like goof, hottie or loser. He keeps trying to make plans to hang out with him and his friends and everything but he is still talking to other girls. The other night he told me that he cares about me too much to lose me. I know we both aren’t looking for a relationship but I am confused on why I would be his number one on snap. What does this all mean?
