I want to wear a bikini but I have a scar on my belly?

If I was in public and you saw me in a bikini with my scar showing, would that be gross? It's a long scar from a couple inches below my navel to a few inches above my pubic area. My appendix busted when I was younger. It's one of those scars that's dark and kind of "pinches" my skin/goes inward. I just hate wearing one pieces because not all of them are cute and I don't like "high waisted" bottoms! I'm still in very good shape and have a nice stomach it's just my scar that is a distraction.

Would guys avoid coming up to me?

I'd still come up to you. A scar adds character I think. And it's in an area that's not too bad. I might even use it as an excuse to talk to you.

In HS I had a major crush on this girl Silvia. She had a scar from an auto accident that went from her eyebrow down her cheek. She was beautiful though, and the scar didn't take anything away at all. Gave her a lot of character. Not that she needed it. She was a good person too. Perhaps in a way a scar teaches you how to be more human to others. Knocks you off your pedestal.

If you have it - own it. Don't try to hide it. Act like "this is who I am".

If you have a nice body and a cute personality nobody cares about your scar. Of course you feel a little bit shy about it because the scar is on your own body. But guys look at the whole package and if the good outweighs the scar you have there a real man would not care. The idiots that would notice and make a big deal out of it or would not talk to you because of that they are not worth your time anyway they are real jerks! So be glad for your little scar there! Wear your bikini and see your scar as a real jerk repellent!

Yep agree with everyone...no issue showing off the scar! If you were too self-conscious, they even have those bathing suits that are like one-pieces where the sides are cut out that look cute too. I think Audrina Partridge wore one...But hopefully you'd eventually not mind just being comfortable enough to just show it off!

no way! no one is perfect and its something that's unique to you. show it off but if you really hate it, I think they have a laser treatment or something for scars

No, the scar is no problem. In some ways, it's kind of cool.

In fact, some guys, who are otherwise intimidated by pretty girls in bikinis, may actually approach you because the scar kind of makes you "human" in their eyes, and not this unattainable utopian ideal of a perfect woman that no real woman can live up to.

Sometimes a scar says "Mystery" and I think it'd a attract a number of males. I know a friend who would love to meet a girl with a scar and isn't afraid to show it.

I say though, show your scar and be proud.

Dont worry about scars and imperfections. Most people have some sort of imperfection that they don't like. Your scar could even act as a talking point about the time your appendix burst LOL.
