+1 ypersonally, im just not comfortable receiving compliments. I give compliments as often as i can, but i dont like getting them... I am very comfortable with my looks, my sexuality, what im packing and have no hangups, but I dont like being the center of attention, or even on the fringes, but I just like being a guy whos there for the party... and the very worst thing is, I want to SING also, but I have an extremely severe case of stage fright... I can talk publically, but I can't sing. (I can sing when im alone)
my wife has been a professional singer and does a beautiful job, and tries to find a way to get me to singing, as i have a deep voice... but its just not something I can do...
Oopps... did I just ramble on about a subject other than the topic?10 Reply

+1 yI would just like hearing a person say they liked my voice, it means a lot more when someone actually says it even if you can see it on their face.
But if someone said they found my voice comforting then I would be very happy indeed, it wouldn't be a matter of honoured, I would just be really happy that my voice has that effect on someone. :)
I wouldn't care about hearing the masculine part, to be honest I don't want my voice to sound too masculine because then I feel like it may sound aggressive, so when I have heard people call my voice masculine before I just took a dislike to it, so I would just not want to hear the Masculine part of that sentence.
Just like to hear the person say my voice is comforting. :)10 Reply
What Guys Said
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yI’ve never had a woman tell me this to me in my entire life. I was unfortunately born with a genetically high pitched voice. It gets bad if I’m excited, upset or angry. It’s gotten better with my age and I know a few tricks to lower my pitch. But it takes awareness to control it.
I remember I once was singing along to an AC/DC when I was in college in front of a girl I had a huge crush on. She said “you have a really high voice. Sometimes it’s higher than mine” while laughing.
It felt like a direct kick in the nuts hearing that from her. She was the last person I wanted to hear say that.10 Reply
+1 yFor me, "masculine" sounds a bit sterile, like you're diagnosing his voice: "Bad news, I'm afraid, Mr. White. Looks like you have a case of 'masculine and comforting voice'. We should start treatment right away."
That being said, it's otherwise a great compliment. Should make him feel good about himself.10 ReplyI think you'll make a man very happy by telling him this. I also think if you're the kind of woman who goes out of her way to make her significant other happy, you're worth more than a man who won't go out of his way to make you happy.
10 ReplyYes I do, that would be a good compliment, just a tip for guys (me) it's annoying to be called cute, and is more degrading than it is a compliment, so I'd recommend to not say it as a compliment.

+1 yWell yes. It actuallyb is the one complement I get from every single girl I speak to. I think I mumble and drone on and on but apparently my voice is deep soothing and calming.

+1 yProbably not what he was going for but acceptable. Its always awkward to have some one sing directly to you right?
10 Reply4.9K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. Sure. Even though I'm not a fan of my own voice, I've been told similar things by women and it's definitely a nice compliment.
11 ReplyI sing in front of audiences, well, did before this pandemic hit. I've been told the same thing.

Did you like that compliment?

Any compliment is always well received. I spent the first 40 years of my life not sure I had a decent voice, then I got to since with the Lettermen and was asked if I had a group to sing with. I said no but I do love to sing. Now I take voice lessons and have a voice coach that has an incredible voice and he's 89!! He put me in touch with some of the older groups from around my era and I got to sing with the Vogues once. I do a lot of Gene Pitney songs and Josh Grobhan suff.
+1 yI think that is a very nice compliment. I dont have a masculine voice but even being told I have a comforting voice would feel good.
10 ReplyYes, it would be pleasing, but there are other attributes that I would be much happier if she found them to be 'pleasing' and 'satisfying'.
10 ReplyI guess. I mean most people don't like my voice, so getting a compliment on my voice would be nice.
10 ReplyIf a girl said that to me it would give me a nice, warm feeling - it's quite romantic actually !
10 ReplyHonestly I would not have a problem with that especially when I don’t get many compliments from girls

+1 yWell I have a very super raspy voice and lots of girls love it some don't like it some say I sound like a demon but 100% it is very masculine sounding.

+1 ySure. I have a deep voice, not much for singing though. I wish I could, but perhaps I could only be a bass in the 'Not-very-good Quartet'.

+1 yI don’t know how it’d be possible for me to receive that compliment but I’d be interested in what’s going through their mind and how it functions. I can’t even yell or scream so...

+1 yIf a guy sang for you he's trying to fuck you, so any complement which in fact means "you're getting closer" would probably sit well with him.
