Is it weird if a guy puts his hair up in a ponytail if his hair is long?

As you can probably see in my pic my hair is pretty long. It's actually like an inch or two past my shoulders now. Would it be weird or "gay" if I put it up in a ponytail or something or would it look "cooler" or better if I just put a bandana around my head like a 60s hippie dude? Any other serious ideas would also be appreciated.

I was also maybe thinking of wearing a headband or something like Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal wear in their tennis matches but I don't know if that would be appropriate for like daily wear.

I don't see the problem. One of my friends grew his hair for locks of love, it was already long so he figured he'd donate it and grew it to 14 inches. He used anything really elastics to bobby pins. He really didn't care what people thought of it. Then again when he told them why his hair was long there was an immediate response of respect for doing such a charity as a man.

Another of my friends is a drummer in a metal band, he used an elastic and just did a pony tail near the base of his skull/top of his neck. Metalhead with ponytail not gay, just "Metal"

All in all. Its you hair, A pony tail would be a reasonable solution, its not gay Its PRACTICAL. and if anyone questions it, ask them what they would have done. chances are they will agree with your solution if you explain it.

and an elastic band is smaller and a lot easier to use then a bandana, grab your hair and put it on done, a bandana you have to tie and fuss with."IS IT ON STRAIGHT?"

Man that's cool,I have a cousin who grew his hair to like halfway down his back and said he was going to donate it to charity but I'm not sure if he actually donated it or just threw it away. I also agree about your elastic band vs. Bandana solution,also pretty funny. Thanks man.

I put my hair in a Pony tail I'm a boy it's not gay there is nothing wrong with it. o have long hair and I get really hot in the summer and i don't feel so hot when I do it makes my feel cooler and not sweat as much. if u want to grow your hair out keep it away from heat

I love long hair on guys, and tied up is nice. And dude, who cares what people will think? Some will think it looks gay, others' won't give a sh*t, some will think it's hot and others' will think it's okay. Just do what you want to do.

I find that I'm only attracted to guys with longer hair if it goes with their image/personality. If you play in a band for instance, the long hair gives more character and brings you one up. Or if you're like the "green" type.

Well I don't know how this comes off but I'm not really trying to look attractive just a way to keep my hair out of my eyes while like running or playing soccer. Also,just wondering,do you think it would be better just to let it hang down or hold it in place with a bandana?

Yeah,that's what I was thinking. It's always better to hold it up instead of just letting it get in your face while running and then sticking to your face once you start sweating.

Personally, I like short hair better. But if you really like it long, then I guess a pony-tail is fine. Do whatever YOU want.

Well I live in Texas and it's extremely hot. I don't think a beanie would really work.
