sounds like he just wanted a hookup. He might end up texting you close to the weekend to see what club you're going to or if you are going out. Don't take most guys at clubs seriously, the majority just want a root. Don't want to sound mean but that's just how it is. If he texts you, you can ask him out some place that doesn't involve alcohol and see how that goes :)
brutally honest here. you can't meet men for "relationships" at clubs. they are one night stand and friends with benefits material. you even said you were kissing etc...when you just met, that to him says "one night stand or fwb". sorry, but I think he got your number just to end it in a nice way. don't be surprised if you get a 2:00 am booty call from him
Sometimes asking for a number is a way to end the encounter and say goodbye without bad feelings. And sometimes not. And some guys adhere to some stupid rule about how soon to call, and some guys don't.
But as a general rule, I wouldn't have any expectations of anybody I met at a club. Clubs are filled with players and skanks.
