What does it mean when a guy asks for your number?

I play guitar at a youth group. This week was my first time. After it finishes, everyone talks and catches up. I was putting my guitar away, and out of the corner of my eye I could see this guy kept glancing over at me. I started talking to someone else, and he walked over and joined our conversation. He asked me heaps of questions. afterward, he said "You can't go yet, we need to finish our conversation". He then asked heaps of questions again. Then he said "Can I get your number?" and then he rang my phone so I'd have his number. He was really keen to talk to me. Do you think he is interested possibly or just being friendly because I'm a newcomer?

You know guys who ask for girls numbers and they aren't interested in them? Not true, at all. Girls can be so blind when it comes to this but if a guy asks for your number and its not related to a school assignment or a project for work, then yeah no. He's interested in you and if he says otherwise that isn't true.

I for one know I wouldn't randomly ask for a girls number I wasn't interested in. I think EVERY guy here can say the same. I mean, unless I was gay and you'd make a potential BFF, but that is not the case.

if a guy asks for you phone number, it isn't so he can throw it on the pile of phone numbers of other girls he has never called. He obviously is interested in you. next time if a guy asks and you are not interested, just tell him you don't give out your number, but he can give you his.

I'm mainly here for the guys answers lol but I usually take it to mean a guy is interested in me. Anytime a guy has asked for my number it was because they had a crush on me/want to get to know me better.

Doesn't sound like he pressured you in anyway, but you have the right idea to be suspicious. Be on guard but don't think of the man as shallow if he really listened to you during the conversation and came across as interested in "you" as well as your body.

Another stupid question. Unless this is the one in a million case, the guy is very much interested. The fact that he is going about it with so much clumsiness probably mean he really likes you. Next time he call, tell him you are having a crazing for and ask if he like to join you. Believe me, unless he have no money, he won't say no. I know guys who have asked for girls' numbers, and it hasn't necessarily meant they are interested in them in that way. I was simply asking for opinions. Next time, don't bother to answer. I'd prefer answers from people who don't have the mentality of a peanut.
