He kept nodding at me while standing right in a place. What does that mean?

He has been distant for a while now because of his school work/graduation and he has a show that he is working on in the midst of all of this. He has mentioned that he had to turn down a role so he could focus on the things he has to focus on right now. Sometimes he is hot, sometimes he is cold. Sometimes he replies within a few minutes, sometimes he takes days to open my text. He knows I like him and we have talked about going on dates when I get there (it's long distance for now). We used to talk everyday until his two shows came up and he went into tech week for those shows. It is already difficult to know where I stand, whether I am being ignored or that he is genuinely busy. I have asked him about it and he said that he is busy that's why he doesn't have time to talk.
Anyway a few days ago I was on a meeting with two of my classmates for a project and he happened to be at the same place as my friend who was at campus while me and my other friend were on zoom. Our friend started sharing his screen and it was a performance from the last year that he and his friend had. This other person on the screen is also friends with the guy that I like. So while he was passing by to leave the cafeteria, he abruptly stopped to look at the screen and he stayed for solid 30 seconds looking at my friend's screen. I have no idea whether he was looking at me or at the performance that he might have watched in person the year before. Towards the end of it, he started nodding in approval for a bit (not just a nod but he just kept nodding). If he was looking at me, what does that nod actually mean? Like he just kept nodding towards the end of it before he left.

UPDATE: I must add that he has never given me any red flags before. He has always been nice and this started happening when the work at school got so busy that he had to turn down the role that he really liked.
