Men, why do you use photos form when you were 20 lbs lighter in online dating?

I never tried online dating but I'd def use a flattering photo of me if I did, like the one I got in my profile -- all pumped after the gym.

20lbs heavier seems a tad extreme though. I'd want to balance looking my best with looking how I look normally since I don't see the point of getting a date if I can't continue dating after. But I can understand wanting to pick our best pics.

Yeah, I felt catfishes the other day. I went out with a. Guy who was 25 LIGHTER than in his pics. He had recently gone vegan and looked emancipated and horrible

I often think online dating should be focused more on video than pics. Can't deceive as much there. I also think you get a better feel the person and their personality in video than still photos.

Yeah, I don’t like video chatting because I have a tendency to look at myself vs the other person but I always offer to send many, many more photos. I could send a video too.

I actually don't understand online dating so much, to be honest, but I'm in my 40s and it wasn't so popular when I was single. I didn't see a reason to do it since I could go out my door and meet new people and find a girl here and there that I really liked -- in person. Then I could hear her voice, smell her perfume, we could talk in a way that isn't as dry as text (I could see her body language, e. g., in reaction to what I said), and I thought that was superior.

I don’t get asked out in person but I get stared at a lot. Plus, I live in Los Angeles, and people sort of stay in their cars a lot.

I lived in Burbank for a while and dating seemed tougher for some reason. Well, the people seemed kind of busy to me. I go to a restaurant and get chatty and people are sorta friendly but go their own ways. Seemed tougher to make friends and dates there.

Yes! I agree! Burbank is charming! I lived there for a bit as a kid in a Spanish style house and later moved to Sherman Oaks

For the same reason you take 100 pictures, pick the best one, then filter it to make it look even better.

My guess they have to do something at least close to as fake as every women online is with the filters. 🤷‍♂️
