So I've worked with this guy for approx 3 years. I recently took some time off but I'm back to work now. He always seems shy/nervous around me and doesn't speak much. Sometimes lingers in the same room as me like he wants to talk but doesn't, other times avoids me and won't make much conversation. Last week he randomly gave me a teddy for my son. It wasn't for a special occasion or anything... so I know he doesn't dislike me else he wouldn't have bought it for my son. I've noticed he is confident/friendly with the other ladies at work but as soon as he speaks to me he seems quiet and mumbles a lot. A few of us were talking on break time and as he said this he looked at me "it's fun when it's secretive but not so much when it's the real thing". His feet are always pointed towards me and he'll lean in/ stand close to me. He's also said things like "we have this treatment next week" meaning he wants to work with me not the other girls? What do you think?
Does it sound like he likes me? I'm confused, guys?

They describe this guy like you did and wonder if he likes them or not. You have to ask yourself this question. Is this the type of guy you want in your life long term because these behaviors don't go away. Him being confident around others when nothing is at stake doesn't help his case. Is he confident with what he wants in life... and if that is you... why isn't he going after it? Many clients end up leading and asking the guy out and doing all the pursuing just to find out he wasn't really that into you and he was just being nice. If a guy made you an option before, they’re just “acting/pretending” to be shy or nervous around you because they know a that’s a sign that they like you, so yeah.. I agree with you coach. This guy doesn’t want anything serious
Even i am going through a same phase... So i can better tell you that this guy... likes you... Even i have same behaviour like this guy... when i accidentally comes in front of a girl i like..(She is younger than me ) If you wanna more... i will tell you... why we behave like this...
See as an guy we are really scared to talk with a girl we like.. It's naturally I don't know... many guys are confident enough to chat with the girls they like and many aren't confident enough.
Like in mine story i like an girl she lives in my same apartment (she is 5 years younger than me ) when we first met we kinda exchanged a look that we have been attracted towards each other. But earlier i thaught that it was mine... thinking why the hell she will be attracted towards me? Then After i have seen her staring towards me 2-3 times but whenever i looked at her she in miniseconds tooked her eyes off.
And after that whenever we met..(we barely got the chance ) we both can't make eye contact with each other. We become awkward... Sometimes it feels to me that she likes me and sometimes it felt to me that she doesn't care about me.. So tell me what is going on?
Maybe in your case too he is even too confused... please don't wait for him to talk... just initiate everything will be fine..
The teddy for your son makes me think he likes you but he gets nervous around you because he is afraid of making the wrong move with you.

It does sound like he has a thing for you. Sounds exactly like my situation with a guy I work with. I'm currently dealing with many of the same behaviors from him.
Hey what are the signs he is giving to you? Tell here... let me see what i can help? And i will tell you mine... Story... maybe you can help in mine one too...
He acts the same way as the guy the question-asker is describing. He always approaches me first and will sit near me, but doesn't have much to say. He will just sit and stare at me. Somedays he is more forward, but he usually mumbles/says random/weird things. He will share food with me too.
Then observe his behaviour... and please i will say to all girls don't wait for the boys to approach... you first... I know as an girl you might like that a guy should approach you first... Then he must be confident... But you know most of the times it's hard to catch the signs of girls for us... So if u like a guy... then approach to him first... Let it be as simple don't play games...
