i want to know how i could tell if a shy, quiet guy likes me. i’ve gotten really close to a coworker and he’s so shy and quiet and does certain things that make me think he likes me/has feelings but i’m not sure.. so i would like to know from the guys, especially the shy, quiet guys, what do you typically do, how do you act around a girl that you like?

It's generally obvious. If they don't like you, they tend to ignore you, and whatever you do doesn't impact them. If they like you, they'll look at you when they think you aren't aware and then quickly look away if you face them. The smile they give you will be different than the smile they give others.

If you want to know for sure, ask for their assistance. They may drag out the contact or ask if there's anything else they can help you with or just offer to do something not asked for. Guys generally like to help. They're more likely to appreciate comments on what they said or did rather than how they look. Ask his opinion in areas he has expertise, but never put him on the spot asking him about something he knows nothing about (such as "Does my hair look better this way or that way?" or "Does my butt look too big in these pants?").

You'll probably need to be the one to make the first move, but they're more likely to take an active role once they knows you're receptive. They're more likely than average to feel devastated by rejection.
