Why did my boyfriend tell me other girls are looking at him?

He’s on vacation with family, and he’s telling me all the girls there keep looking at him. I’m not insecure and this doesn’t bother me because of the reason it should, but why the hell would he tell me that? It seems like he wants me to be jealous. I compliment and love on this boy every single day, usually too much ESPECIALLY because he’s super insecure. So why does he feel the need to tell me all these girls have their eyes on him? Saying that to me was a giant turn off. I don’t even know how to respond to that.

Sometimes, I think that he only pretends to be so insecure so that I will keep complimenting him. I think it boosts his ego.

I really dislike men who behave this way. You’re absolutely right, in my opinion, he’s fishing for compliments and things to boost his ego. By telling you other girls are looking at him, I’m sure it was to make you jealous because he probably gets that way about you without you even trying. I’d be over the relationship, mostly because it gets draining. Constantly having to compliment and make him feel good is just a lot; and it’s never enough, he’ll keep seeking more and more.
