Why did he ask me to bring my friend out with me?

This guy I liked asked me to “go out” with him on Saturday. He said he was bringing his guy friends and asked me to bring my best girl friend as well. Why does he want me to bring my friends? Is this normal on a first date?

if you guys are on the younger side I would say it can mean either of 2 things
1. Maybe he is also trying to help his friend, that way his friend and your friend can also meet and see how things go.

Or

2. Some people are still uncomfortable on going a direct one-on-one date inviting friends kind of alleviates that pressure since both of your friends is there. Once they feel more comfortable around you then they start inviting you to more dates where its just the both of you.

Guy friends or guy friend? Cuz if it's a guy friend then he might be thinking about a double date if not then he probably wants you to hang out with him and take a friend with you so you don't feel lonely or something.
