Not to poopoo on this situation, because he could very well be dropping hints! But when I get coffee from Starbucks, I’ve noticed that this has become like a thing for them to do. Even if I’m just in the drive through, they ask how I am, where I’m coming from, how school went, etc. Maybe it’s an attempt to personalize your experience which I think is very kind. Like I said, this may not apply to you but I don’t even think it’s just Starbucks that does this because my friend is a barista at Peet’s and she likes to chat and connect with her regular customers.
