No. When you start complementing female friends you are getting personal. That begins to take the friendship to a different level.
I have a female friend I've known for 15 years. The only personal comment I made was that a selfie had her eyes crosseyed and looked horrible.
My best friend is a woman and if i commented on how she looks its cause im being honest. But... i will will be the first to tell her she looks ridiculous or she's being a real bitch. I can't say that i have complimented her looks on a regular basis cause that would be awkward AF. Its gotta be a perfect blend of compliments, insults, sarcasm, & support. If its compliments all the time i would be cautious. A true friend will be the one telling you the shit you dont want to hear
My guy friend compliments me often. Heck, he used to do that whenever I posted a picture on Instagram.
He used to criticize me as well, and tell mw if my dress doesn't look good, or if the picture quality doesn't look good
My best friend of 12 years compliments me but also insults me so like 🤷♀️😭

Yes I do but I don't really seem to get as much back. But those rare compliments I Get, make my day or more. Puts me in a great mood. I want them to feel the same. Heck Thursday I complimented my friends wife's boots. And my friend was the one who bought them for her. And i said great taste to him.
