is that a flirting thing?. we aren't really close but we had this "interesting" kinda sexual conversation last night and I saw him today and he had like a cheeky smirk and asked how I was. and then later on I talked to him on msn and he said "sorry darl I have to go".? what does DARL mean? is it just a cliche like love, girlie , etc. or does it mean sometihng?

lol, I tend to use that occasionally just politely.

It's shortened from darling obviously, I mostly use it when someone is kind or helpful to me and is likable, e.g. buying something from a pretty bartender is followed by thanks [darl/darls] (also could be taken as doll, which wouldn't be bad as most dolls are thought of as pretty).

Another way is in showing affection to a beloved i.e. my darling is the full so to expand your sentence its sorry my darling I have to go. regular non-dated slang it turns to mean that he thinks of you as pretty/wonderful/his favorite, orrrr as his dear, love or sweetheart.

My advice is do not read too much into it, more interesting is to note if he always uses intriguing diction because, forbid me from saying it, that would mean he is a male that can think with more than his central appendage. Also I wouldn't think you should send that/those pictures for your own safety and future portrayals, if something does turn sour, images like that can destroy people.

I never actualy heard anyone say that. I think its more common in places like New Zealand or Australia. A cupple girls from Syndney said guys would call them darls with an s on the end. But I would guess its short for darling which is the same as hun. I would call it a slight flirt. Its more then just calling someone miss. Which is what people here in the New York City area say when they don't know a womans name. But you have to call them something but darling or hun, sweety, means the guy thinks your cool. Doesn't necasarily mean he will make a move on you. But if you made a move on him he would be inclined to except. If a guy didn't like a girl at all or actualy disliked her he would not use a pet name at all. Which is what this probobly is.
