What would you respond when someone tells you that they miss you?

Whenever he texts me and say that he misses me I would text him back and say “I miss you too” or “ I miss (his name) more” or whatever but when I say that I miss him he wouldn’t say that he misses me “too”. He would normally say “I miss (my pet name)” what does that mean? Why isn’t he agreeing with me?

I do not think it means anything. Don’t complicate your relationship by overthinking the nonessentials. Missing ones SO is not a competition. No one has to miss the other more. That you use that in your responses doesn’t mean he has to use it. He’s able to admit that he misses you (sometimes before you admit same) that should be good enough. Do not over complicate it.

Don't just say miss him just bkoz he told you he miss u. It will give him wrong hint of you're not in relationship with him
