Impatience. Or possibly fear of losing contact with you. With ghosting so prevelent nowadays it can do some serious damage to people's psyche.

I'm not saying what he's doing is right but if you decide to end the relationship give him a proper breakup so that he can learn what chased you away

I don't know that interest is the right word. Having an interest in someone means that you care about their opinions

He could see you as something he "owns"which isn't interest but domination.

It could mean he is frustrated or unsure in some way,.

It doesn't really matter if you are dating or not.

If he feels he owns you he sees you as an object not as a person. People don't generally date objects they possess.

If he has feelings of inadequacy, he's unsure of what steps to take to process towards his goal or fears the results of you finding the "truth"
