There's a difference between shy and awkward girls, and then rude and dismissive one's though.
As long as you can both express how much you mean to each other, establish a good romantic and sexual relationship (even if one person is more confident than the other), and build up each other up, then you can have a great relationship with a so called 'shy' and 'awkward' girl (or guy for that matter).
Not every guy likes or wants a party girl.
Everything you have wrote doesn't make you "awkward/weird", you are just cautious person. You don't hang with everyone or being open to strangers, which is fine no biggie! :D
