Yes, but it only takes a little bit more before I don't think it's so weird like if we start with some small talk, then to deeper talk, and start getting to know each other. Then I'm down to hang out.

Why should I just jump into hanging out with a complete stranger, you know? Does she only like me for how I look or act?

Trying not to sound too boastful but I'm not so short on friends (let alone the ability to make new ones) that I want to jump into hanging out immediately with someone I haven't even had a proper conversation with.

Only need to change the approach a bit. You know, like with guys who throw pick-up lines at complete strangers. That's probably off-putting or just funny 99% of the time. Just start a regular conversation instead.

I don't want to exchange my number with someone I don't even know yet. It's not so complicated with me like a, "Hi, how's it going?" is probably going to spark a conversation if she's interested in having one. Don't need to jump into exchanging contacts so quickly.
