It depends on the situation. Did you do something that could've hurt you and he yelled at you for it? Chances are VERY good, that's love! If he yelled at you because you missed a spot on the carpet when you were vacuuming, that's NOT love!

  Well I asked to meet with his friend and we talked about him and I don't know if he's mad because he thought I was dragging on old crap or he was mad cause his friend told him it was a date and it wasn't. I specifically met with his friend to talk about him.

Not always. I get mad at a lot of women the way they drive doesn’t mean I care about them. It just depends on your relationship w him. You two friends? FWBs? There’s not enough content here to say whether he possible cares about you or not.
