Would you message a fake account if you know them?

A guy I know from college has been using a fake account to follow me and watch my stories. There were a few hints that it was him such as his message on my anonymous question page in which he implied that my pictures were of him. He liked a picture of mine and then removed the like months later. I thought of messaging him just for fun but I don't know if it is a good idea or not

I think it's a bad idea. Someone who creates a fake account to watch your stories and does these games is someone who is problematic in general, probably had a crush on you or some obsession or anyway something "strong" and unrequited, to need such methods to keep knowing about you. If you message him you'd just fuel again his odd "something" he has for you. This will revamp that. And it would also be abusive on his regards because you'd obstacle him while he is possibly getting over you. Let him have his phase and disappear... Or, let him contact you through his real profile, if he really wants to. It's better because in this way he is encouraged to do healthy communication, while if you allow his way to be shady by contacting him like if he welcomed in his methods, well, it sets the rule that, with you, he -can- be that weird. Which is bad for you.

It’s actually really weird because this person cut off communication with me 5 years ago. Now suddenly they are obsessed with my ig although we don’t go to the same school anymore.

If you are going to confront him, do so in person. Then you can talk about it and clear it all up once and for all, otherwise? It is likely to get very messy indeed.

In that case, I wouldn't say anything. Otherwise without being able to clear it up face to face he will just make another id or you might become paranoid.. At least this way you know where is is so to speak.
