Guys, Why does my EX act like my boyfriend?

My ex and I broke up almost 2 years ago, and ever since then he has acted like we are still together. He text me almost everyday to see how my day went. He lets me know all the new projects he does.
We do everything together. We go to markets and shows and even family gatherings. When I have a doctor's appointment or a surgery he wants to be the one to take me and take care of me.
I want to say we are more like friends with benefits, but there aren't that many benefits. Far and few between.
I could use a man's perspective on this, because I am very confused. This has been going on for a long time. And he hasn't looked for anyone else.
Guys, what are your thoughts?

He is delusional, perhaps the breakup message hasn't reached his radar yet, either ways if It bothers you then you should tell him and obviously do less stuff together because something I could say is that people can confuse him as your boyfriend and you won't get approached by other guys, or at least none of the good ones

Got to cut the ties to him. friends with benefits to him still feels like your a couple in his brain.

Once you broke it off with him, should have stayed broken off. That's including friends with benefits.
