My guy friend says he’s here for me?

I have a crush on my male friend. Today I was venting to him and he was listening and helping. Twice in the conversation he said “anytime you need a friend to listen I’m here for you” and “i’m always here for you to listen as a friend”

is he trying to put me in the friend zone? We talk every day, sending big paragraphs to each other and will have other convos going in group chats and on social media at the same time.

It looks like bit of a red flag to me, he isn't putting you on the friend zone, I think he feels that he was friendzoned by you and is trying to get out.

He is trying to be nice, but wants you. If he doesn't talk about other girls to you, then he isn't your friend.

Hmm, I dont feel like I've done anything to make him feel that way, but we did start out friends and still are, so maybe. We have nicknames for each other and sometimes he calls me fam and homie, but I can tell he usually uses it in a joking way

He also doesn't talk to me about other girls EVER. And it seems like he talks to me in a diff way from other people, at least I think. I feel like we've had more personal convos
