Should he be spending more time with me?

I met a guy and we went on a few dates, we don’t go often. He is a med student so he’s really busy but right now he’s on break. He took me on a date and he said he would like to do it again but we can’t this week or next week because he is busy but then states he spends a lot of time sleeping during his break and doing things with his friends. He talks about things he would like to do with me though. He’s about to be on a road trip with his brother
for some time so I thought he’d like to see me before he goes. I’m used to a guy spending a lot of time with me. He is a sweet guy so maybe I’m just thinking to much. I just would like to spend a little more time.

Try not to overthink about this. If he’s in med school, he’s going to be really busy and that’s probably his focus right now—finishing med school. As for sleeping, that’s actually really important to stay productive. It’s really difficult to study on low sleep. Having good sleep and naps will help him perform at his best. As for hanging out with friends, that’s also important for him mental health due to the stress he may feeling from med school. So, don’t take it too personally. He’s likely just studying hard and trying to take care of himself. Plus, you’ve only been on a few dates. It may take some time for you to grow on him. He could be one of those types that really like to take things slow.

Try to be as understanding as you can. Acknowledge how busy he must be and how you want to be supportive. But, also communicate your needs and concerns so that he is aware and so he can give you the reassurance you need.
