That seems like a very old fashioned type of thing to say. I think of way back to knights or something like that. Perhaps it is just the way I am saying it in my head. I wouldn't read too much into something like that. Instead, look for other more sure type of indicators that he is interested. This can't be the only one.

What about flirting? Does he show any signs there other than just saying "my lady"? Does he make eye contact, smile, engage in conversation, etc? Those would be some things to look for that would give you a better idea of his level of interest.

It may be his way of flirting... using that term. Odd but I guess to each is own. Again, I'd look for any other signs he is into you and not just how he addresses you. How do you know this guy anyway? Is this just a friend or is it some guy you just met? There aren't a lot of details.
