We've been talking for months and he recently started using these nicknames. Want to make sure I'm reading the signals right.

Yeah sounds like to me he is trying to slowly bring on the flirting with little nicknames here and there. Some may say Oh it's nothing, but I think if it was nothing it would have been calling you those names from the start.

I think maybe he's not sure how you feel about him so he is "easing" into I guess we can say, maybe he feels if he comes on too strong and you are not interested in him like that then maybe he will scare you away.

That's the way I see it, but not an expert =P
