Guy friend asked this question and not sure if he is jealous?

I posted a picture of me holding flowers on instagram story and my guy friend commented from whom. I joked asking if he is jealous. He said “lol, just wondering who the hell he is.” Is this a sign of jealousy?

He has been dating and talks about other girls to me so this is why I am unsure why he wants to know.

Well, the first question might have just been pure curiosity from the way I see it. The reply does make me a bit suspicious as he got defensive.

He could have also just gotten flustered from you asking if he was jealous, which could have led to him saying that. If that is the case then it means nothing the dude was just curious and then got flustered because of the question.

He’s done this so so many times. Everytime I post something with me holding a item, he asked which guy gave it to me. But all my responses and answers has been I buy them for myself lol.

This is mild jealousy. He isn't necessarily taking it too serious. I would guess he is interested in you
