Guys: if a woman smiles at you, what is your first thought and instinct?

I noticed that every time smile at guys, I always get very different reactions. Some are very shy, some don’t know what to do, then there are some guys that act very extroverted. But in general, guys seem confused or surprised, why though, what is the first thought and instinct that comes to you as a man?

I don’t have a separate thought based on a woman’s smile. Firstly, there’s usually an obvious reason for the smile. They’re in a service industry and i’m a customer. I’m funny. Secondly, ending a chain of thought to think about a smile is a sign of weakness. I’m simply not that easily manipulated anymore. Any of my thoughts at any given time are more valuable to me than that. I’m not giving them up easily.

I just passed a young lady who smiled as I passed. I smiled back. This is normal for Cincinnati, the biggest small town in the world lol. Women smile as I pass them at work pretty much every day (I work for a university) and are friendly towards me , I don't think it means anything, it's just normal for the area.
