Why would a guy says he felt funny when I asked if he was okay?

Today, my colleague has soccer match with his team and during the game, he was injured and was taken to hospital. I actually like him and out of concern, I asked if he was okay and he gave me laughing emoji. When I asked him why he was reacting with laughing emoji, he replied saying he felt funny. I scolded him saying that he is feeling funny when he is in so much pain. And again he gave me laughing emoji while saying what happened to him. Why did he feel funny when I asked if he was okay?

Is he on strong pain meds? Or maybe he just thinks it's funny. Or maybe he's laughing it off because he wants to put on a tough show for his "fans". Men are strange creatures. Women too.

You shouldn't really need to ask that question - it's one of the foundation stones of being male.

It’s the best rush that I’ve ever had.. it comes in high pain moments. If you ever experience it, you will never forget it. It’s the buzz of all buzzes…endorphins. It’s not a mystery to me why some of the people in the world enjoy that pain dynamic. The obvious and bet tattoo folks too. There’s probably not a liquor, drug, or “act” that will ever match that rush.
If he’s really hurt pass his personal pain threshold then that’s probably why he’s laugh 😆 😎😎😎😎😎😎
