It’s so obvious that people around us tell us that our faces light up when we see each other. Speaking for my self I don’t know why I smile like that when I’m around him.

If you’ve been doing it for a while then it’s actually rather obvious. Both of you may not have noticed what you’ve both been doing at the time but more or less you bonding in a way and you didn’t really notice it at the time. Effectively I believe you’ve both been developing a psudoromantic relationship with each other and didn’t notice it at the time. Effectively I think both of you have been Bit by the offbrand love bug. Or at least you have some form of lingering feelings from back when you two are sleeping together.

Generally if you don’t know/understand a feeling when you tend not to notice that feeling because it’s foreign to you and flies under the radar you can’t really know you have a feeling unless you can identify what that feeling is

Likely because there was a connection there. Even if it was physical, it is bringing back memories and moments. You shared something. Now, it isn’t exactly something I would get excited about, but to each is own.

I always need an emotional connection to be intimate with someone. I don’t do friends with benefits or hookups. That’s just me though and if that is what you like…. you do you. I’m guessing maybe there was a bit more to it than just the physical aspect.

You may disagree but what you are experiencing now is an emotional feeling. That leads me to believe there was something there during your physical relationship that you both suppressed.

If you are both friendly with each other, why not give dating a shot. You obviously find this guy appealing if you are happy around him. You also have the intimate part down. Is there any chance at a relationship? I’d think long and hard on that and decide if you can pursue something.
