Does he like me? Why is he avoiding me?

This guy I like has given me signs he likes me but they are sometimes mixed signals. I sometimes can’t tell if he’s being nice or if he likes me. Lately he has been avoiding me. For example if I see him he will quickly walk past me or if I look at him he will look away. Why is he avoiding me? Help!

I’m not. I don’t approach him or anything like that. I live in a small town where people know each other and it’s things like running into him at the grocery store
